Erin MarieE-RYT® 200, RYT® 500, YACEP®, ACSM-EP,
Fierce Lifestyle Queen Born and raised in the Midwest, I took my first yoga class in 2003 but found my passion and regular practice while studying Health Promotion and Human Physiology at the University of Iowa. Before teaching yoga I instructed various fitness classes (e.g., kickboxing, boot camp, dance) as a certified American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Physiologist. In Fall 2013, I began a 30-day intensive 200-hour yoga teacher training at Anamaya Retreat Center in Montezuma, Costa Rica. Under the instruction of Paula Tursi of Reflections Yoga and Peter Kaaberbol Kristensen of LagoCPH, I learned the key principles of yoga and teaching, receiving my 200-RYT certification alongside 30 other beautiful souls. I have actively taught in several cities throughout my tenure and am currently teaching in Austin, TX. In 2015 I co-founded the Yoga & Beer arm of Wabi Sabi Health and Wellness, bringing yoga to a new population of practitioners in an open and accepting space. I completed my 300 hour yoga teacher training through Total Harmony Yoga in San Antonio, TX in July 2018 thanks to a generous advanced teacher training scholarship through the Yoga Alliance and plan to use this to expand Yoga Services to veterans all over. I believe the best teachers are those who continue their personal practice and are lifelong students. My grandfather instilled a love for learning, exploration, and travel in me at a young age. I continue to travel to learn from teachers near and far because I truly believe that if you aren’t learning and creating new memories what is the point in living? Since 2013 I have taught over 1500 hours of yoga in group as well as individual settings with students ranging from 1 to 90. My classes are filled with unique and exciting flows emphasizing breath and alignment aimed at creating a sound connection between mind, body, and spirit. My favorite styles to teach are Vinyasa, Restorative, Gentle Hatha, Yin and Fusion styles of yoga allowing my students to find their own breath and flow in practice. My primary interest is creating optimal wellness through all facets of life and using yoga as a moving meditation to encourage my students to find themselves and their heart in this world. Come flow and explore with me today! |

Sica Von Medicus
Photographer, Yogi, Computer Graphics Artist, & Unicorn Princess
A picture captures a moment and freezes it in time. My name is Sica and I currently live in Los Angeles, California. Since 2011 I’ve worked in the Animation Industry as a Lighting Artist for Nickelodeon Animation and in 2015 my husband, Freeman, and I started our business, von Medicus Photography. Capturing moments and creating visually stunning images is my life. Photography lends itself as the perfect partner to my career in Animation by giving me a real life guide to creating fantastical worlds. I started practicing yoga in 2012 as a way to relieve stress and pain from my scoliosis. In 2016, I began practicing regularly and found an intense love for the energy and life yoga brings. Yoga gave me the strength to appreciate my body for everything it’s done for me and to believe in myself in ways I didn’t even know I was struggling with. Yoga is more than just pretty poses, it’s a way of living. The Instagram community gave me a way to combine my passion of photography and my yoga practice. The artful way the body can move is captivating. Creating interesting images for yogis is endless fun and the creative challenges photographing yoga poses presents keeps my creativity fresh. I love adventuring and have traveled all over the world, so I’m really excited to be apart of this team and capture some amazing memories for everyone! |
